Matt Burgess grew up in Jackson Heights, Queens. A graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Minnesota’s MFA program, he is the author of the literary crime novels Dogfight, A Love Story, which was a New York Times’ Editors Choice and Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers pick, and Uncle Janice, which is being adapted into a television series by ITV Studios America. He has taught creative writing in middle schools, public libraries, state prisons, and is currently an Assistant Professor of English at Macalester College. He lives in Minneapolis with his wife Georgia and two cats who seem relatively indifferent to him.
